Hypnotherapy Certification

Could you get a hypnotherapy certification? Why not?

Hypnosis uses each individual’s own powerful mind to create change.  It’s easy and relaxing, and actually quite fun.  And most areas have very little competition, as hypnotherapy is still a widely misunderstood process.  You can reasonably learn the skills of a professional hypnotist in a relatively short period of time– unlike, say, the skills of a professional surgeon.

Unlike programs in most universities and technical schools, hypnotherapy as a profession still has a wide-open freedom in most states.  You should check out the “laws” section of the Hypnotherapist.com web site for the most up-to-date info, or get your local government’s ear.  Still, many states require just a certification through one of the national boards.

There are plenty of hypnotherapy home study courses out there.  Some are crazy expensive for what you get; some take the simple, direct fundamentals of hypnotherapy and make them overly complex.  I encourage you to take a look at this program, linked below.  I recommend it for its convenience and delivery method.  That and it’s affordable, and by Steve G. Jones, whose hypnosis tapes I have used & recommend.

Buying the course through this link helps me keep the site running.

Do note that as of 2006 this program (online or in person) is all you need to get started in practice in these states: Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

For international locations, check with your country and province.
